About Christopher Van Schenck

Dr. Van Schenck was raised in Sacramento, California. As a child he enjoyed imaginative play including dressing up like superman, being a ninja, and skateboarding while flying his ducktaped shoebox airplane designed perfectly for his stuffed animals. He studied martial arts in his youth from Dave Kovar at Kovars Karate Center in Carmichael, California. Dr. Van Schenck has warm memories of spending time in his father's pediatric office. During the summer his family would visit Pinecrest Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He graduated in 1997 from Jesuit High School. Please see Home Page for further education details. He is an INTJ personality and enjoys time with family and helping his dog Rocky bite on his favorite bone.

Dedicated to Excellence

I believe in one-on-one personalized holistic treatment. I don't assume that all psychiatric symptoms can be treated with medication. I treat my patients with respect by listening to them and enjoy learning from my patients. My practice has been designed to not rely on any element of the contemporary healthcare system that I have learned stands in the way of the doctor patient relationship.  Above all, my aim is to collaborate with my patients to find the treatment that works best for them.

  • Medication Managment
  • Psychotherapy
  • Natural Supplements for Mood/Anxiety
  • Lifestyle Coaching
  • Mind-Heart-Body Medicine

Nolensville Psychiatry is conveniently located in the back of Brittain Plaza for your privacy. Our office is nearby Brentwood, Franklin, Arrington La Vergne, Forest Hills, Smyrna, Oak Hill, Thompson's Station, Triune, and Almaville, all surrounding suburbs of Nashville, TN.

Experienced Psychiatrist

I have completed extensive education and clinical training as well as specialized training in my areas of expertise. Driven to constantly improve my knowledge in the area of Psychiatry, I stay up to date with continuing medical education to learn about the latest advancements in the field and offer these techniques and technologies to patients.

The Importance of Patient Education

I strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services I provide. In addition to talking with patients during appointments and throughout the course of treatment regimens, I have provided extensive information on the conditions, treatments and procedures relating to Psychiatry.

This clinical information has been written with you -- the patient -- in mind and includes graphical illustrations and photographs. It can be printed in an easy-to-read layout on your home printer. I encourage patients to read about conditions and treatments that affect them and I eagerly invite you to ask questions. Thank you for choosing me to be your psychiatrist.
