About Us
Thank you for choosing Nolensville Psychiatry! My practice is dedicated to listening to each patient to discover what is actually going on. I do not assume that just because you are coming to see me that you have a psychiatric diagnosis or a psychological/mental or spiritual issue. I believe that patients know more about themselves than I do and enjoy learning from patients. There is a difference between normal emotional troubles (we all have them) and legitimate psychiatric disorders. I believe that conditions that have been inherited genetically are not the same as psychological/mental challenges - in other words -the brain and the mind/soul work together (but are not the same). Although I am not interested in supporting the pharmaceutical industry, I believe people with certain conditions may benefit for a time from properly prescribed medication. I do not believe all psychiatric conditions are lifelong conditions.
No solication please.

The Importance of Patient Education
A key part of preventing a health care problem from progressing is being aware as to how they can develop. We strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services we provide. In addition to talking with our patients during their exams, we have a ready supply of patient education materials such as brochures and information sheets in our office. We encourage our patients to read about their condition and ask us questions about how to stay healthy.
If you are seeking to refer a patient you can fax referral information to 615-235-1186 and Dr. Van Schenck will contact the patient. To learn more about the services that Dr. Van Schenck provides, please email drvanschenck@proton.me.
